After all we put 3 months of hard work into Snowtape for iPhone not to mention the days of work by our graphic designer and beta testers. So, is this another sad story about a great app that suffers from an unfair and arbitrary approval process? I hope not. And of course I have found at least 3 apps that do exactly like this: That‘s right! We did not violate any paragraph of the SDK, yet they forbid us distributing our app.Īfter I hang up the phone I could not believe that there is no app in the App Store that can record internet radio and stores the audio for later playback. His sole words were, that there are lots of things missing in the SDK agreement and that they can not foresee any circumstance that leads to a denial of an app. Of course I tried to asked him about the paragraph in the iPhone Developer SDK agreement, we are violating. What he meant is that Apple can not allow you folks to record internet radio and store it as MP3 on your local storage. Effectively he said that Apple can not publish an app that records audio from an internet stream and store it permanently on the iPhone and of cause he explictly said that we can not have a function in our app for re-distribution of these recordings. I got a call from Steve Rea of iPhone Developer Relations telling me that they can not approve Snowtape for iPhone. I am sorry to tell you that the release of Snowtape for iPhone has to be delayed for an unknown period. This is absolutely ridiculous and must to stop.įrom the original blog post by Martin Hering: Without any specific reason Apple decided to denied Martin’s app. We’ve been working for the past 3 months with Martin Hering from Vemedio on Snowtape for iPhone. More updates and cool stuff coming soon ) So i’ll gladly present you to his new website, He came from nowhere, and unlike most of the current designers of our community, he didn’t went through the same process most of us has, giving him a totally different style and skill set, and i’m glad i was one of the first to notice him, to notice his qualities as a designer and especially as a person.
#Snowtape recording software how to
We started iconlicious by the half of 2009 and became public by the beginning of January, it was a blast to work on it, I have to admit working with Marcelo is really really cool as he has a completely different approach on how to make things, his management skills are quite interesting and i’ve never worked with someone that into the job. We really value our friendship over anything, especially over work, and in a way to allow us to both to pursue our ideas, dreams, we decided it was best for us to have separated portfolios, we sure do keep collaborating, like we did in the past when we didn’t even had iconlicious together, but in a way it gives us the freedom to be us with no strings attached. This happened because we realized that even though we have a lot in common it seems we kinda disagree on some key points on where we wanna do for the future of iconlicious, as friends we tried to do our best to ease this differences but it turns out it wasn’t helping me, Emanuel, or Marcelo.
